Knavesmire IT is pleased to announce that throughout 2014 we will be supporting the PKD Charity – UK.
About 70,000 adults and children in the UK have Polycystic Kidney Disease or PKD – life-threatening inherited conditions that can cause renal (kidney) failure and affect other organs in the body. Over 12 million children and adults worldwide have PKD.
The PKD Charity supports those affected, their families and carers, with information, help and understanding. They raise awareness and fund research into the causes of PKD, with the hope of discovering treatments and a cure. You can visit the PKD Charity website at www.pkdcharity.org.uk.
Phil Johnson (owner of Knavesmire IT) is one such person who suffers from PKD along with a number of other close family members – some of whom have undergone successful transplant – and has committed to run the Run For All Hull, Pennines, Leeds and York 10k’s, followed closely by the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon in October, and has an overall aim of raising £1,000 for the charity.
If you would like to support Phil’s PKD Charity Fundraising then please take a moment to visit his JustGiving Page at www.justgiving.com/philjpjohnson where you can find out more and make a donation.
